I am writing to urge Congress to investigate and block the unconstitutional $1.776 billion "Anti-Weaponization Fund" created following Donald Trump’s dismissal of his $10 billion IRS lawsuit. The version of the timeline most generous to Trump required him to file his claims by October 2025. This is because federal law mandates IRS disclosure suits be filed within two years of learning about a leak. Public court records show Trump’s personal attorney, Alina Habba, was physically present in federal court in October 2023 when the IRS contractor pleaded guilty to the leaks. This means Trump had actual knowledge of the disclosure at least 15 months before his January 2025 complaint. The strict two-year statute of limitations had already expired.By settling an expired, legally invalid lawsuit against his own administration, this agreement bypasses judicial oversight and creates an opaque, taxpayer-funded slush fund to reward political allies.I demand that you support the House Judiciary Committee's efforts to block this settlement, investigate the timing discrepancies, and protect taxpayer funds from unconstitutional abuse.
