This last-minute scramble reveals a failure of leadership and planning despite having over a month to comply with the law. Sources familiar with the redaction process describe the guidelines as confusing or overly cautious, suggesting the department may be redacting more than necessary. While protecting victim identities is legitimate, the law requires transparency and the public deserves to see what their government knew about Jeffrey Epstein's criminal network.
