Do not lift sanctions on Russia!

To: Sen. Hoeven, Sen. Cramer, Rep. Fedorchak

From: A constituent in Horace, ND

April 24

The Russian invasion of Ukraine represents a flagrant violation of international law and sovereign borders. Lifting sanctions would undermine global efforts to hold Russia accountable and incentivize further aggression. Instead, we must stand resolutely with Ukraine by maintaining economic pressure on the Russian government until they fully withdraw from occupied territories and restore peace. Easing sanctions now would reward Russia's illegal actions and embolden other authoritarians seeking to redraw maps by force. For the principles of self-determination and territorial integrity to have meaning, a strong, unified response condemning Russia's actions is imperative.
