Mr Trump is on the cusp of settling his self-dealing lawsuit against the IRS at his own direction for 10billion dollars, which would more than double his family’s net worth at the expense of American taxpayers. No one has ever been paid such a sum for breach of their information and Trump has established no demonstrable harm to himself, having won re-election and enriched himself through the presidency as no on in history before him.
Congress is not helpless to prevent this presidential plunder and grotesque corruption.
Pass the Ban Presidential Plunder of Taxpayer Funds Act. It would
• Ban the sitting President or Vice President (and their immediate families) from collecting settlement payouts from the United States.
• Pause filing and processing of a sitting President or VP’s administrative claims until they have left office.
• Impose guardrails on the President or VP’s federal lawsuits and claims, making the process more independent and transparent.
• Impose a “cooling” period when a former Vice President assumes the Presidency.
If Trump extracts this enormous amount from the American taxpayers, future politicians will do the same—-and more. The line must be drawn here.
Our tax dollars are not a presidential piggy bank
