I write to you as a citizen deeply alarmed by our government’s continued and unconditional support for the State of Israel, even as credible international bodies—including the International Criminal Court—investigate its actions in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories as war crimes and acts of genocide.
It is morally indefensible and politically reckless for the U.S. to continue supplying weapons and unchecked financial aid while Israel carries out military operations that have killed tens of thousands of civilians and flattened entire neighborhoods. This must end. Congress must immediately halt all military aid to Israel and conduct a full audit of previous assistance provided.
Furthermore, the Israeli government must be held accountable for its illegal settlement expansions, which violate international law and represent a continued project of colonization and displacement. These settlements must be dismantled. Palestinians have a right to sovereignty, to self-determination, and to live free from occupation, apartheid, and blockade.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must be formally condemned for his role in perpetuating these atrocities. The U.S. must cooperate with international legal efforts to hold all leaders accountable for war crimes, including honoring ICC warrants.
We also call for an end to the undue influence of lobbying organizations like AIPAC, whose financial leverage has distorted American foreign policy and suppressed legitimate criticism. Political contributions from foreign-aligned lobbies that support apartheid policies should be prohibited.
Congress must act with courage and principle. History will not judge kindly those who remained complicit in one of the most devastating humanitarian crises of our time. The United States must stand on the side of justice, dignity, and international law.
