Investigate Illegal Use of Taxpayer Funds for Pro-Trump Political Ads

To: Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman

From: A verified voter in West Chester, PA

September 25

You need to investigate and stop the illegal use of taxpayer money to run political campaign ads for President Trump. A 30-second spot promoting Republican midterm talking points — tax cuts, manufacturing, "law and order" — aired on national TV for three straight days, with spending ballooning from $14,000 to at least $430,000. Federal law explicitly prohibits using taxpayer funds for "publicity or propaganda," and this ad crosses that line. This isn't a partisan complaint. Sen. Thom Tillis, a Republican, called the ad "inappropriate" and compared it to tactics from Viktor Orban's Hungary. House Democrats called it "the sort of government propaganda one might expect in North Korea." A second government-funded ad has since begun airing on Newsmax. The White House won't even say which agency is paying for these. That alone demands a formal investigation. Constituents deserve to know who authorized this spending and under what legal authority.
