I am writing out of sheer frustration and deep disappointment. At this point, it is impossible to ignore the glaring reality that Congress has failed in its most basic responsibility: to uphold accountability, protect democratic norms, and respond with integrity when a president engages in conduct that many Americans view as dishonest, dangerous, or potentially unlawful. The pattern of inaction has become indefensible. Each time blatant falsehoods are repeated, each time norms are shattered, and each time allegations of misconduct surface, Congress responds with the same predictable cycle of hearings, statements, and hand wringing. Yet nothing meaningful happens. It is a level of institutional paralysis that would be unacceptable in any other workplace in this country. Your refusal or inability to confront these issues head on sends a clear message. Political convenience has eclipsed constitutional duty. The American people are expected to trust a system that refuses to enforce its own standards. We are expected to believe in checks and balances that, in practice, seem to evaporate the moment they are most needed. I am disgusted by the complacency. I am disgusted by the excuses. And I am disgusted by the willingness to tolerate behavior that would have ended the career of any ordinary public servant. This is not about partisanship. This is about the basic expectation that elected officials will act when confronted with conduct that undermines public trust. If Congress cannot or will not respond to blatant lies, abuses of power, or potential violations of law, then what purpose does it serve? I am demanding, not asking, that you remember the oath you took. The country does not need more statements, more deflections, or more political theater. It needs courage. It needs integrity. It needs a Congress that is willing to act. Your constituents are watching. History is watching. And the excuses have run out.
