Vote NO on Budget Provisions That Harm Children and Undermine Families

To: Rep. Bergman

From: A verified voter in Marquette, MI

May 9

I implore you to oppose the House budget reconciliation bill in its current form. This bill threatens core conservative values by stripping away protections for unaccompanied children and undermining the rights of parents. Section 70117, for example, would permit invasive strip searches of children as young as 12—something no parent or grandparent would accept. It would also impose outrageous fees on parents just to regain custody of their own children, creating costly red tape that punishes families instead of protecting them. These are not the solutions of a limited, accountable government. They are policies that grow bureaucracy, erode liberty, and betray our nation’s commitment to protecting the vulnerable. We can—and must—secure our borders without sacrificing our principles or our humanity. I respectfully urge you to vote no on this bill and champion real immigration reforms that are both effective and compassionate.
