The legislator-owned marijuana monopoly is price-gouging Louisiana patients, as much as three and four times the price patients in other states pay! With the officially declared FEDERAL OPIOID EMERGENCY (2017)claiming more lives than ever, it’s time to make the least harmful alternative to opioids more available to Louisiana patients. The corruption of a legislator-owned marijuana monopoly is a stain on the state’s government and only contributes to the stereotype of a Career Louisiana Criminal Politician! No state should use patients’ pain to fill a Jindal-era budget hole at LSU and Southern. Treating patients like this is unacceptable and IMMORAL! Patients refuse to be a LOOT BOX for corrupt Louisiana politicians. Patients deserve to have HOMEGROW, to access + afford their medications and to be able to grow the strains that best help their medical conditions. Patients requiring high therapeutic doses could save as much as $2,000/month in medication bills. Imagine what that could do for families; many patients hurt unnecessarily because they cannot afford the state’s overpriced medication. The right thing to do is let patients handle this themselves. Patients can already purchase up to (5) FIVE ounces of marijuana a month….HOMEGROW just lets them afford and access those five ounces! And, in the case of discontinued products or strains, patients may be able to grow their own relief that the state’s program failed has to provide for them during the year-long shortages we’ve suffered through. Patients begged the legislature for help last legislative session and you did nothing! We’re done asking. True leaders do not profit off patients’ pain. We DEMAND that you treat patients with respect! We DEMAND that you let us handle this ourselves! PUT UP A BILL WITH HOMEGROW NOW!
