I’m worried about medical neglect of those in ICE custody (https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/01/us/immigrants-ice-detention-lent-ramadan.html), many of whom are in the country legally (https://www.nytimes.com/video/opinion/100000010520926/inside-ice-detention.html). I urge you to visit detention sites in our state to conduct oversight (https://www.npr.org/2026/03/18/nx-s1-5746809/trump-administrations-expansion-of-migrant-detention-ignites-fierce-opposition), and to demand the release of medically vulnerable detainees, including pregnant women and those experiencing serious conditions. Please act now to protect these people from further harm, and to call for the closure of all ICE detention facilities (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/mar/05/trump-administration-texas-ice-jail).
