Please revoke EO N-22-25

To: Gov. Newsom

From: A constituent in Foster City, CA

May 16, 2025

I am writing to express my disappointed in Executive Order N-22-25. I was so proud that the State of California was embracing working from home as I believe it is one of the best ways to attract and retain the best employees especially when the State already does not have very competitive pay. Data proved that telework and hybrid work improves productivity and saves the State money. Pushing a four day return to office with the current budget projections seems tone deaf, irresponsible, a blatant attempt to pander to commercial real estate, and an obvious maneuver to try to get State employees to leave for better jobs. Having State employees return to office 4 days a week is essentially a pay cut to employees that brings no benefit to taxpayers. As I mentioned before, I’m just really disappointed in you. I voted for you and supported you in the recall election because I thought you did a good job, you supported work from home, and you stood up to Trump in his last term. Now it seems like you’re flip-flopping on those points. I don’t really have any hope that this letter will change your mind, but I wanted to let you know that I’ll never support you in any future political office if you continue down this weird MAGA/moderate courting path you seem determined to start down. Please revoke EO N-22-25. The employees and citizens of California deserve better.
