End U.S. military aid enabling violence against Palestinians

The escalating violence in Gaza has resulted in unconscionable civilian casualties and suffering. The indiscriminate bombardment by Israeli forces has killed thousands, including many children, and left the densely populated territory in ruins. As tax-paying American citizens, we are deeply disturbed that our government continues to provide military aid and arms sales to Israel that directly enable these atrocities against the Palestinian people. This is not reflective of our values as a nation. We urge an immediate cessation of American military assistance to Israel until they agree to a permanent ceasefire and make credible efforts towards a just peace agreement that addresses the legitimate grievances of the Palestinian people. The unconditional support for Israel's disproportionate use of force in Gaza is perpetuating a brutal cycle of violence and human rights abuses. We cannot turn a blind eye as American arms and funding contribute to the demolition of homes, destruction of civilian infrastructure, and killing of innocent lives. Furthermore, the blockade and occupation of the Palestinian territories have created an unlivable humanitarian crisis and crushed economic opportunity, breeding resentment that fuels further conflict. It is morally and strategically misguided to enable Israel's subjugation of the Palestinian people through military force. We call for a principled stand rooted in human rights and the rule of law, not blind militarism disguised as self-defense. A just resolution to this decades-old conflict is only possible through development aid, diplomatic engagement, enforcement of international law, and safeguarding the human dignity of all people. American support should be contingent on tangible progress towards these goals. Wielding our military backing as leverage presents the best path forward.
