Please hold ICE and their private contractors accountable for the deplorable conditions at Delaney Hall and the other detention centers around the country. Reports from inside these places are horrifying. Too cold, bad food, bad water, insufficient medical care, even deaths. The people held in these places are largely innocent of any crime beyond overstaying a visa or not (yet) having their papers in order. It is alleged that they are being treated harshly as a way to get them to give up their cases and leave. All of this is inhumane and just plain wrong. Also, the fact that these places are being run by for profit corporations with every motivation to keep them full (money for every person held) and to cut corners on expenses is another reason to oppose these awful places. These detention centers go against our values as Americans.
