I’m writing to ask you to oppose the nomination of Todd Blanche for Attorney General. Mr. Blanche has a clear record of disregard for the integrity and independence that the Senate must require of the highest law enforcement officer in the country. The AG must be impartial and insulated from political influence. The AG must demonstrate unquestionable ethical standards that assure his commitment to justice and his loyalty to our Constitution. Todd Blanche does not meet this standard. His actions as deputy AG and acting AG have been detrimental to the DOJ and to the rule of law. He has already compromised the integrity and independence of the DOJ. Todd Blanche is unfit to lead the DOJ. The US Senate must reject his nomination as Attorney General.
