I am absolutely appalled and disgusted that ISU is having to rescind graduate program due to "uncertainties with funding." This is not just an unfortunate misstep—it is a direct result of your inadequate leadership and your failure to prioritize education and fiscal responsibility.
This is your fault.
This is a direct attack on vital research initiatives that are critical to Iowa’s economic future and our global standing. By failing to properly fund these programs, you are stifling innovation and undermining the potential for groundbreaking discoveries that could drive economic growth, public safety, and technological advancement.
Your continued failure to prioritize research funding will cripple Iowa’s ability to attract top-tier talent and will leave us behind on the world stage.
China is already outpacing us on research. We have the resources to be the leader in science and research.
Research is the backbone of progress, and your inaction is putting us in a dangerous position.
I would give you a more comprehensive list of the damage you're doing to our economy, our health advances, our agriculture.... but I hope you're smart enough to know these things already. Considering YOU are the budget writers, and have been the ones funding Universities all along.
This negligence is unacceptable, and I demand immediate action to restore funding to research programs. Iowa deserves better than this.
