Engaging with Charlie Kirk (and thus helping to normalize his extreme views) was only the second worst thing your podcast did yesterday. By giving oxygen to the far-right’s desire to discriminate against and marginalize transgender people, you were hurting some of the most vulnerable people alive. This shift to the right to score political points with people who hate you and would never vote for you when you try to run for President is beyond short-sighted; it’s morally wrong. Great leaders take positions that aren’t popular because they’re the right position to take. And in doing so, they help move the needle of understanding and awareness. You did just the opposite. I hope you show more courage and compassion and intelligence going forward.
