I am writing as your constituent to demand you take immediate action against a direct assault on American democracy. Pro-Trump activists coordinating with the White House are circulating a 17-page draft executive order that would use fabricated claims of Chinese interference in the 2020 election — for which there is no evidence — to declare a national emergency and seize federal control over voting. The order would allow Trump to unilaterally ban mail-in ballots and voting machines ahead of the 2026 midterms. The U.S. Constitution makes clear that states administer elections. This proposal would expand federal control and almost immediately be challenged in court. Voting rights experts say there is no statute that permits it, and courts have already rejected similar election overreach. This is not election integrity. This is election rigging. I am demanding you publicly condemn any executive order that claims emergency powers over voting, commit to blocking any attempt to override state election authority, and hold hearings to investigate this coordinated effort to undermine free and fair elections. If you stay silent while this administration attempts to seize control of our elections, you are complicit in the end of American democracy. I will be watching.
