I’m writing because I’m angry and worried about what’s happening with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The agency is being used less like an enforcement body and more like a personal police force for the President. That is dangerous and completely unacceptable in a democracy. ICE has shown over and over that it can abuse its power, tearing families apart, targeting communities, and acting on political orders instead of following the law. When Congress doesn’t step in, that sends the message that this kind of behavior is okay. It isn’t. We need Congress to step up and push back. That means: Holding ICE accountable, publicly and immediately. Passing laws that stop any president from using federal agencies as weapons. Standing up for due process, dignity, and basic fairness so ICE cannot be used as a tool of fear. We should not have to live in fear of our own government. ICE should not be allowed to run unchecked, and Congress has the power and the duty to resist this. This is urgent. People are watching to see if you will stand up to protect democracy, or stay silent while it is chipped away. History will judge whether you fought back or looked away. Please choose to fight back using any means necessary.
