Oppose SAVE Act - Protect Voting Rights Equitably

To: Rep. Bacon

From: A constituent in Omaha, NE

April 10, 2025

I urge you to oppose the SAVE Act, which seeks to require documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. This mandate would create unnecessary obstacles to voting that disproportionately burden marginalized communities. Existing protections against voter fraud are robust, and evidence shows such fraud is extremely rare. Instead of restricting ballot access, Congress should prioritize making the electoral process more open and equitable for all eligible U.S. citizens. Upholding democracy demands safeguarding the fundamental right to vote, not implementing discriminatory regulations that undermine free and fair elections. Opposing this bill is crucial to prevent voter suppression.
