This amount of money could be better spent on infrastructure, education, or healthcare - investments that would benefit all Americans, not just a select group. I urge you to oppose any attempts to use taxpayer money for these farmer bailouts, whether through the CCC fund or tariff revenue. Instead, I ask that you advocate for a reconsideration of the tariff policies that have created this crisis in the first place. It's time for a trade strategy that doesn't require constant government intervention to mitigate its negative effects on American producers and consumers. The timing of this aid rollout, complicated by the government shutdown, further underscores the need for a more thoughtful and sustainable approach to both trade and agricultural policy. Please stand firm against this misuse of public funds and work towards solutions that address the root causes of our farmers' struggles without placing an undue burden on American taxpayers.
