Enforce the War Powers Resolution

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Van Duyne

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

April 28

The 60-day deadline of the War Powers Resolution is approaching. Congress must do as the Constitution requires: debate this war with Iran openly and vote on whether continued military hostilities should be authorized. This not about politics, or Republican vs. Democrat. It is about the Constitution, and Congress’, role in our government. Decisions about war are too serious to continue by inertia or executive action alone. Congressional silence on this is implicit authorization. My wife and I urge you to demand enforcement of the War Powers Resolution, insist on public debate, and reclaim Congress’ role in America’s decisions of war and peace.
