Trump’s Cognitive Fallacy vs. Reality

To: Rep. Flood, Sen. Fischer, Sen. Ricketts

From: A constituent in Papillion, NE

June 1

Why does the president of the United States insist that getting “a perfect score” on four dementia screening exams is proof of his extreme brilliance? Dr. Jonathan Reiner, Dick Cheney’s former doctor, a cardiologist, and professor of medicine at George Washington University said it best: “That’s not really that useful when you take it over and over and over again, because the questions don’t change that much… [The MoCA] is a test used to detect signs of cognitive decline and dementia… it shouldn’t be hard to get through it anyway, because it’s a dementia screening test, it’s not an IQ test.” This extremely brilliant man posted 57 times online on a single Saturday, from 11:15 a.m. until 7:59 p.m. During that time, his posts: - Attacked Obama and Biden - Included AI images of him with Tom Brady, his “drone port”, his “goldendome”, him golfing, and him as a NY Knicks basketball player - Promoted his interview with Lara Trump (2x) and Mark Levin’s show on Fox News - Attacked the Pope, disloyal Republicans, Hollywood celebrities, and a judge - Included photos of himself with King Charles, George Washington, and President Xi - Included memes of U.S. governors - Promoted his UFC fight on the White House lawn - Showed a photo of a B-2 bomber emblazoned with “Trump energy 2026” - Said he wanted to cancel his America 250 celebration and replace it with a MAGA rally - Included photos of his face on Mount Rushmore, him kissing the flag, and him dressed up as a Navy commander - Compared himself to George Washington and showed a mockup of the “Trump Peace Prize” - Insisted he’s in “excellent health” He’s not in excellent health. You can see that. I can see that. We all can see that. Not one post outlined his vision for America. Not one post assured us about the future or touted the path we’re on. Not one post talked thoughtfully about concrete, actionable issues. All posts attacked, provoked, complained, maligned, or spiraled into self-congratulatory fantasies. We need actual leadership. Our country is flailing under: - High consumer and gas prices - A self-inflicted war and damaged international relationships - Gutted federal agencies and deep cuts to medical research - A cash-strapped middle class and a shrinking safety net for families - Unfettered abuses at immigration detention centers - Frivolous federal investigations while Trump’s inner circle profits off it all We have a president who tweets and shouts and jabs, and a Congress that sits and watches. Where are the checks and balances? Where is the person driving the country into prosperity and peace? We deserve real leadership, not a man who thinks that by acing a cognitive test, he’s the smartest man in the room. We need a leader who leads with strength, empathy, collaboration, intelligence, and cohesion. As my elected representative in Congress, you cannot remain a bystander to this general incoherence. I am writing to demand that you take the following concrete actions: - Exercise Aggressive Oversight: Use your committee assignments, voting power, and public platform to reject meritless personal projects and frivolous investigations, refocusing Congress on inflation, middle-class relief, and international stability. - Reclaim Legislative Authority: Introduce and support legislation that restores the balance of power, putting strict checks on executive overreach, knee-jerk foreign policy reactions, and the gutting of vital federal agencies. - Publicly Demand Accountability: Speak out against the weaponization of the presidency for personal vendettas and petty nicknames. Hold this administration to a standard of governance that serves all Americans, not just a few. Where are you in all of this? I am looking closely at your legislative record and your public statements. Please reply to this letter detailing the specific steps you are taking to restore checks and balances to our government
