Demand Impeachment of President Trump for Betraying Ukraine and Aiding Russia

I write to you with grave concern and urgency regarding the actions of President Donald J. Trump and his administration in relation to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The so-called “peace plan” recently put forward by the Trump administration is not a diplomatic resolution—it is a blatant act of capitulation to a hostile foreign power, and it constitutes a betrayal of a democratic ally in its time of need. According to multiple credible reports (Axios, NBC News), the Trump administration has proposed forcing Ukraine to surrender sovereign territory—including Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia—as part of a so-called “peace deal” that overwhelmingly favors the aggressor: the Russian Federation. The plan would also block Ukraine from joining NATO, effectively stripping the country of future security guarantees while rewarding Russia for its illegal invasions and war crimes. Let us be clear: Russia is the aggressor. It invaded Ukraine without provocation, annexed territory in violation of international law, and continues to commit atrocities. For the United States to pressure Ukraine into accepting these losses is not peacekeeping—it is appeasement. Worse, it is providing aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States, which is the constitutional definition of treason. President Trump’s actions fit a disturbing and well-documented pattern: • He withheld military aid to Ukraine in 2019 for personal political gain. • He praised Vladimir Putin repeatedly, even after confirmed Russian interference in U.S. elections. • He has undermined NATO and other multilateral alliances that deter Russian aggression. • And now, he seeks to force Ukraine into surrendering its land and liberty to Russia’s demands. Every clause of this “peace plan” benefits Russia. Every clause punishes Ukraine. And the man proposing it has a decades-long track record of aligning with Russian interests against the security of the United States and its allies. This is not just bad policy—it is a direct threat to global democracy and American credibility abroad. It undermines our alliances, emboldens authoritarian regimes, and aids a government currently engaged in acts of war and terror. I demand that Congress immediately launch an investigation into this so-called peace plan and begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump for: 1. Providing aid and comfort to a foreign adversary, Russia; 2. Betraying a democratic ally at war, in violation of U.S. strategic and moral commitments; 3. Endangering U.S. national security by aligning American foreign policy with the goals of an enemy regime. Congress must act now. The price of inaction is the erosion of democracy abroad and the abandonment of our most fundamental values at home.
