Support H.R.987 - Fair Access to Banking Act
To: Rep. Bonamici
From: A constituent in Beaverton, OR
July 24
Financial institutions should not be allowed to act as unelected legislators by withholding financial services to otherwise credit worthy businesses based on subjective political reasons, bias or prejudices.
The policies put in place by credit card companies like Master Card and Visa are already disproportionately affecting marginalized people and communities.
Allowing financial institutions to run unchecked gives a green light to large corporations to destroy small businesses and block small innovators and creatives. This not only makes our economy weaker, but disincentivizes creativity and erodes freedom (of expression and financial): of US citizens, noncitizens, and people across the globe that use financial systems based in the US.
Please ensure fair access to financial services and fair treatment of customers by financial service providers by supporting H.R.987
