Reject legislation discriminating against transgender community's rights and dignity.
To: Rep. Flood
From: A constituent in Lincoln, NE
November 19
I urge you to oppose any legislation that discriminates against transgender individuals by denying them access to public restrooms that align with their gender identity. Such measures are not only unconstitutional but also promote harmful stigma and marginalization. Rep. Mace's proposed bathroom ban for transgender women in the U.S. Capitol is a misguided and cruel attempt to perpetuate prejudice under the guise of protecting women's safety. Numerous studies have shown that allowing transgender people to use facilities matching their identity does not increase risks or lead to incidents of abuse. This issue has been weaponized to sow fear and division. Our representatives should be focused on real challenges facing the nation rather than targeting a vulnerable minority group. I implore you to stand against bigotry masquerading as legislation and uphold the dignity and equal rights of all Americans, regardless of gender identity or expression. Promoting inclusivity and rejecting discrimination is the moral imperative.
