Expel Representative Cory Mills
I urge you to support the immediate expulsion of Representative Cory Mills from the House of Representatives. As detailed in recent reports from Time and other outlets, the allegations against Mr. Mills represent egregious violations of the public trust and the standards of conduct expected of a Member of Congress.
The evidence brought forward by Rep. Nancy Mace and the House Ethics Committee is disturbing. Mr. Mills faces serious allegations of violence against women, including a reported physical altercation and a court-ordered injunction for protection against dating violence. Furthermore, the Office of Congressional Conduct has identified substantial reason to believe he has profited from nearly $1 million in federal weapons contracts while serving on the very committees that oversee them—a blatant conflict of interest.
When combined with documented claims of stolen valor regarding his military record, it is clear that Mr. Mills’ presence in the Capitol undermines the integrity of the institution. Congress must demonstrate that it does not protect frauds and abusers. The dignity and integrity of the House require a vote for his expulsion without further delay.
