Reject Kash Patel nomination, uphold rule of law

To: Sen. Kim, Rep. Norcross, Sen. Booker

From: A constituent in Voorhees, NJ

January 31

Kash Patel's disastrous confirmation hearing demonstrated his complete disregard for the rule of law and his willingness to undermine our democratic institutions for political gain. He refused to unequivocally condemn Trump's false claims about rigged elections, which were rejected by courts across the country. Patel also failed to address his plans to gut the FBI by shutting down headquarters and replacing career agents with Trump's political cronies. Furthermore, his appearances on neo-Nazi and white supremacist platforms, as well as his promotion of violence against political opponents, are utterly unacceptable for someone seeking to lead our nation's top law enforcement agency. Confirming Patel would severely damage the FBI's integrity and independence, putting partisan loyalty above public safety. For the sake of our democracy and national security, it is imperative that his nomination be rejected. A vote against Kash Patel is a vote to uphold the principles of justice, equality, and nonpartisan governance that our country was founded upon.
