Trump Tax Cuts

To: Sen. Fischer, Rep. Flood, Sen. Ricketts

From: A constituent in Lincoln, NE

January 27

Word is coming out about the proposed Trump Tax Cuts. Including: "* Eliminate home mortgage interest deduction * Tax increase on single parents by eliminating the Head of Household filing status * Taxing college scholarships * Raising taxes for homeowners * Eliminate credit for child and dependent care * No more deducting student loan interest * End employee retention tax credit * Remove deduction for state and local taxes (SALT) paid * Eliminate nonprofit status for hospitals * Eliminate the tax credit parents get for having an eligible college student (American Opportunity Credit) * End in-school interest subsidy Simply put: Don't support this nonsense. Being a party line person doesn't mean you need to harm Nebraska. While we have a Governor that pushes for property tax relief, raising taxes on homeowners on a federal level is the opposite of what we need. Stand up for what is right for Nebraska, not what the president or Speaker of the House tell you to do. Resist hurting Nebraska.
