The implementation of this new Gold Card immigration strategy at a time when Green Card approval has been frozen for so many prospective Americans, who have followed the rightful and legal process, is a chilling display that none of these policies are about safety or immigration enforcement. They are about creating a country where only the wealthy, regardless of their needs, talents, or safety to our country, are granted the ability to come in. Even people here on visa or seeking immigration who have invaluable talents to add to our country are being swept up in the denial process, unless they can pay up. The language of this order also threatens Congressional abilities to access the "funding" raised by the Gold Card process. None of this can be allowed. I demand that you shut down any attempts to let people pay for American citizenship, and to stand up against the current restrictions being made to the Green Card process.
