Vote “no” on this Republican administration’s budget bill

To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

June 5

More than 4 million Texans reliant on Medicaid and 3.2 million Texans reliant on SNAP—your constituents—will be harmed by this Republican administration’s proposed budget. Without Medicaid’s support, many rural hospitals will be forced to close. That will directly cause unnecessary deaths. Many Texans who lose their Medicaid coverage will not be able to transition to employer-provided insurance if their employer does not provide insurance or they work fewer than 35 hours per week. This will result in more people seeking care at already-bursting emergency rooms, driving up everyone’s cost of health care and insurance. The only people whose taxes will go down make over $4 million dollars a year. The rest of us will suffer greatly. My wife and I ask you to use your power as a senator to block this harmful legislation. Please vote “no” on this administration’s budget bill.
