Condemn the Disrespectful Treatment of President Zelenskyy!

I am writing to express my disgust and deep disappointment at the way President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was treated by President Trump, Vice President Vance, Senator Rubio, and others during his recent visit. The way they verbally attacked a leader whose country is literally fighting for survival was not just unprofessional and undiplomatic—it was downright disgraceful. Forcing Zelenskyy into a humiliating, performative display of gratitude—the insistence that he say “thank you” and the bizarre comments about his attire—was beyond inappropriate. Ukraine is not a submissive pawn in some twisted political power play. Zelenskyy is not here to grovel; he is fighting for his people, for democracy, and for the very principles that America once claimed to stand for. America is not supposed to be a bully. Yet, this administration’s treatment of Ukraine, a nation under siege, makes us look exactly like one. This is a shameful betrayal of our values, our allies, and the global fight for democracy. I urge you to: 1 Publicly condemn the administration’s disrespectful treatment of President Zelenskyy. 2 Reaffirm America’s support for Ukraine in words and in action—because democracy cannot be abandoned for political theater. 3 Push back against this administration’s bullying tactics and ensure that U.S. foreign policy is based on principle, not cruelty. History will remember how America responded in this moment. Will we stand with our allies and our values, or will we enable this administration’s disgraceful, authoritarian behavior? I urge you to speak out and take action. Silence is complicity.
