Vote for new Senate leadership and retire Chuck Schumer from majority leader.
To: Sen. Blumenthal, Sen. Murphy
From: A verified voter in Oxford, CT
November 6
I am a constituent of yours in Oxford, CT and I urge you to vote against Chuck Schumer as senate majority leader.
Voters just handed Democrats a Senate majority, and with it a mandate for change. It is time for new leadership.
Senator Schumer has led the caucus for a decade. In that time, too many working families have watched party leaders protect the interests of Israel’s and its genocide, Wall Street, large donors, and powerful corporations while promising to fight for everyone else. We are tired of leaders beholden to corporations. We clearly see who funds our leaders and whose calls they return first. This erodes trust in the party and confidence in its ability to effectively govern.
This historic election brought a new generation of senators to Washington, several of whom campaigned openly on the need for different leadership. Their voices reflect what so many of us feel. We want a leader who will fight boldly for affordable health care, higher wages, action on climate, and an economy that works for ordinary people, not just those at the top. We are not seeking unity with Republicans above all else. We want real change.
We also need younger leadership. The challenges ahead will shape my life, as well as my children’s The people setting the agenda should have a real stake in that future. A leader who can energize young voters has already proven it can strengthen the party for years to come.
Because you vote by secret ballot, your choice is yours alone. I ask you to use it to support a more progressive, younger leader who answers to voters rather than corporate donors. Please donate right thing.
