Don’t Play Nice - Abolish ICE

To: Rep. Crow, Sen. Bennet, Sen. Hickenlooper

From: A verified voter in Littleton, CO

February 12

I’m your constituent, and I’m demanding you choose a side: stand with Delia Ramirez and Al Green — or stand with the domestic terrorists of ICE and DHS. There is no in between. At the February 10, 2026 House hearing, Democrats grilled the heads of ICE, CBP, and USCIS over the Trump administration’s escalating, brutal enforcement and the agency culture of secrecy and impunity. Congress has exactly one lever that matters here: the power of the purse. Use it. This isn’t abstract. It’s bodies and families: • Renée Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis on January 7, 2026. • Alex Pretti was shot and killed by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis on January 24, 2026. • Keith Porter Jr. was shot and killed by an off-duty ICE agent in Los Angeles on December 31, 2025. • Jean Wilson Brutus died after being detained and held at Delaney Hall in Newark — another death tied to the detention machine Congress keeps funding. • And this violence isn’t confined to Minneapolis: Silverio Villegas González was shot and killed by an ICE officer during an attempted arrest in Franklin Park, Illinois on September 12, 2025. So here are my direct expectations: For Republican members of Congress: use your humanity and your oath to the Constitution to deny funding. Stop laundering cruelty through “law and order” talking points while you bankroll agencies acting like a secret police. For Democratic members of Congress: your constituents and our country need more than your vote — they need your leadership on this issue. Hold the line publicly and privately. No side deals. No “reluctant yes.” And for all members: 1. Vote NO on any CR, omnibus, or appropriations package that funds ICE/DHS. 2. Demand enforceable accountability — not PR statements and “internal reviews.” 3. Publicly align with Ramirez and Green: deny funding until these agencies are restrained and accountable. Don’t send me a statement about “concerns” while you keep the money flowing. Funding is endorsement. Choose a side.
