An Open Letter

I’m your constituent, urgently asking you to oppose ANY U.S. military action against Venezuela. The U.S. is escalating without diplomacy, and Venezuelans—who have suffered enough—will pay the price. A strike would kill civilians, destabilize the region, and worsen a humanitarian crisis. I have a close friend living on Margarita Island. If the U.S. attacks Venezuelan territory, they could be killed. Ordinary people—not political leaders—will bear the consequences. And let’s be honest: this is not about drugs. Everyone knows fentanyl is not produced in Venezuela, and invoking it only undermines public trust. The administration recently pardoned an individual responsible for hundreds of tons of cocaine entering the U.S. If we truly cared about drug trafficking, our policies would reflect consistency, not selective outrage. This isn’t about supporting Maduro. You can oppose a government without bombing its people. Military force will not resolve Venezuela’s political crisis—only increase suffering and chaos. I’m asking you to publicly oppose ANY U.S. strike on Venezuela, including attacks on ships or targets inside its territory. Please demand de-escalation and prevent another unnecessary, catastrophic conflict. My friend’s life—and countless Venezuelan lives—depend on it.
