I am writing to you not just as a deeply concerned citizen of Colorado, but as someone who is outraged by the continued inaction in the face of a rapidly deteriorating democracy. Donald Trump is openly dismantling the foundations of our republic, and yet far too many of our elected leaders, including Democrats, are doing little to stop it.Trump has made it clear he intends to ignore the Constitution and rule by authoritarian decree. His open threats to deport Americans without due process, his push to dissolve the Department of Education, his praise of dictators, and his relentless attacks on the judicial system, press, and basic civil liberties are not just campaign bluster—they are blueprints for tyranny.Where is the accountability? Why has this man not already been impeached and arrested? Why are those who enable his actions still walking the halls of Congress as if nothing is wrong? The time for diplomacy and caution is over. The country is at a breaking point. Every day we fail to act emboldens him and his followers further. We are witnessing the normalization of fascism, and it is unacceptable.I call on you—now—to stand up. Use your voice, your vote, your platform, and your power to demand immediate legal action. Donald Trump must be held accountable, and so must the lawmakers who continue to support or enable his dangerous rhetoric and actions. There must be consequences for their betrayal of the American people.Silence is complicity. Inaction is cowardice. We need bold, principled leadership. If our democracy is to survive, it will be because people like you chose to fight for it when it mattered most.Do not wait for history to judge. Act now.
