I am writing as your constituent to strongly denounce former President Donald Trump’s continued fixation on acquiring Greenland. This proposal is unnecessary, reckless, and deeply out of touch with the realities facing Americans today. Americans do not want Greenland. Pursuing the acquisition of territory from a long-standing ally does nothing to improve the lives of people here at home. It will not lower grocery prices, reduce housing costs, improve healthcare access, strengthen education, or ease the economic strain families are facing every day. It will not heal the divisions tearing our country apart or bring relief to communities that are struggling to get by. What Americans do want is leadership focused on real, urgent problems: • Prices are high, and families are hurting. • Wages are not keeping up with the cost of living. • Housing is increasingly unaffordable. • Healthcare and childcare costs are crushing working people. • Our nation is deeply divided and in need of serious, responsible governance. Chasing Greenland solves none of this. As my representative in Congress, it is your duty to represent the interests and priorities of your constituents—not to entertain political distractions or nationalist fantasies that undermine our relationships with allies and waste time, resources, and credibility on the world stage. The midterm elections are approaching. Voters are paying attention. This is the time for Congress to act decisively, refocus on the needs of real Americans, and demonstrate that you are listening to the people you serve—before the people decide it is time for change. I expect you to oppose any effort to revive or legitimize this misguided pursuit and instead commit your energy to addressing the issues that actually affect American families.
