I’m writing to ask you to vote NO on any reauthorization of FISA Section 702 that does not include meaningful reforms. Section 702 gives the government broad surveillance powers that have repeatedly been used to spy on Americans without a warrant. That was unacceptable before — and it’s especially dangerous now. I support the SAFE Act as a strong reform framework, but I’d welcome any serious bill that adds real oversight and protections for Americans’ civil liberties. Please don’t hand this administration a blank surveillance check. No reform, no reauthorization.
