I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent removal of NPR from White House press briefings and the installation of Breitbart News in its place. This change undermines the integrity of our nation’s media landscape and threatens the public’s access to fair and accurate information.
Breitbart News has a well-documented history of spreading biased and misleading information, often serving as a partisan mouthpiece rather than an objective news source. Owned by the Mercer family, a major financial backer of far-right causes, Breitbart has no mandate to serve the American public. Instead, it prioritizes narratives that align with its ideological leanings, rather than providing fact-based journalism that informs the electorate.
The removal of NPR—a trusted, publicly funded news organization with a long-standing commitment to journalistic integrity—raises significant concerns about the administration's efforts to control the flow of information to the public. It is unacceptable for a democracy to replace a reliable news source with one that serves primarily the interests of the President rather than the American people and the truth.
I urge you to take a stand against this blatant attempt to manipulate public discourse and restrict access to balanced reporting. As my elected representative, I appeal to your patriotism and sense of justice to ensure that our nation remains committed to the principles of transparency, accountability, and a free press.
Please take action to protect your constituents from the spread of biased and misleading information. The American people deserve access to news that serves the interests of the nation above any political agenda.
I appreciate your time and consideration on this crucial matter and look forward to your response.
