An Open Letter

To: Sen. Blackshear, Rep. Young, Gov. DeWine

From: A verified voter in Centerville, OH

October 28

I strongly oppose SB 153, an unnecessary attempt to rewrite Ohio's elections laws. It changes over 40 sections of Ohio law governing voting and elections and creates 3 entirely new sections, all to make it harder for eligible Ohioans to vote or collect petition signatures. SB 153: - attacks the citizen petition process (which Ohioans already voted to protect); - makes it harder to register and cast a ballot; and - overloads local Boards of Elections with unfunded mandates and new requirements. Instead of working so hard to maintain your own power, why don't you put some effort into protecting democracy and actually helping Ohioans?
