I am deeply concerned about former Anthropic engineer Jacob Coxon’s assertions that AI companies are operating under low enough scrutiny and unchecked growth that there is an over 10% chance AI will cause mass extinction by 2030. I urge you to do everything in your power to rein in these companies and make sure that the people in power gambling with our lives are held to the highest account. AI is an existential threat and should be treated like one.
