I am writing as a very concerned constituent to strongly urge you to uphold your constitutional responsibility by supporting impeachment proceedings related to President Donald J. Trump’s misuse of executive authority, including proposing the possibility of Insurrection Act, and his continued pattern of behavior that raises serious concerns about judgment, stability, and respect for democratic norms, laws, the Constitution.
The Insurrection Act is an extraordinary power intended for the most extreme circumstances. Its threatened or improper use for personal or political ends undermines federalism, civil liberties, and the foundational principle that the military must not be used to intimidate or control the civilian population. Any misuse of this authority warrants the strongest congressional response.
In addition, the president’s repeated erratic statements, disregard for factual reality, and impulsive decision-making—especially during moments of national crisis—raise legitimate concerns about fitness for office.
While Congress is not tasked with making medical diagnoses, it is responsible for assessing whether a president’s conduct and behavior meet the standards required to faithfully execute the laws and safeguard the nation.
Impeachment is not about partisanship or retribution. It is about accountability, deterrence, and reaffirming that no individual is above the Constitution. Failure to act in the face of clear abuses of power sets a dangerous precedent for future presidents of any party.
I strongly urge you to place the Constitution, democratic stability, and the long-term health of our republic above political pressure, and to support impeachment and appropriate disqualification measures as warranted by the evidence.
