I am writing to you today as a follow-up to our recent correspondence regarding the tenure of Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security. A few weeks ago, I expressed my deep concern and outrage following the tragic death of Alex Pretti, a VA nurse and American citizen who was killed by federal agents in Minneapolis. At that time, I called for a full investigation and the impeachment of Secretary Noem. In your respective responses, you each expressed unconditional support for both the Secretary and President Trump. Today, however, the situation has changed significantly. President Trump has officially removed Kristi Noem from her position as DHS Secretary via a public announcement on Truth Social. In light of this development, I am requesting that you clarify your current position. Do you continue to offer "unconditional support" for Ms. Noem now that the President himself has seen fit to replace her? Furthermore, given the mounting evidence of systemic failure and personal misconduct, I am formally asking you to join the calls for a comprehensive congressional inquiry into the following matters: • Gross Mismanagement of Funds: The documented expenditure of over $220 million in taxpayer money on a self-promotional advertising campaign. • Abuse of Government Resources: Serious allegations regarding the procurement and use of luxury Gulfstream G700 and Boeing 737 MAX jets for personal travel involving Corey Lewandowski. • Operational Incompetence: The leadership failures that resulted in the deaths of two American citizens—Alex Pretti and Renee Good—and the reported illegal arrests and deportations of thousands of legal residents and citizens. As my representatives, I expect you to prioritize the rule of law and the responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars over blind political loyalty. If a thorough, unbiased investigation by Congress and the Department of Justice reveals that crimes were committed, Kristi Noem must be held criminally liable. I look forward to hearing whether you will now support accountability for these actions or if you intend to maintain your previous stance despite these grave revelations.
