Support for SB 360 – Increase Accountability for Pharmacy Benefit Managers

To: Rep. Droge

From: A verified voter in Neodesha, KS

February 23

I am writing as your constituent in Southeast Kansas to express my strong support for Kansas Senate Bill 360. Prescription drug affordability and access are critical issues for families in our region. SB 360 takes an important step toward increasing transparency and accountability for Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), whose practices too often drive up costs, restrict access, and place independent pharmacies at risk. In rural communities like ours, local pharmacies are more than businesses — they are essential healthcare access points. When PBM practices reimburse pharmacies below cost, impose unfair fees, or steer patients away from local providers, Kansans lose access to trusted care close to home. SB 360 helps address these imbalances and supports a more fair and sustainable system. Through my community work supporting families and reproductive health access in Southeast Kansas, I regularly see how medication costs and pharmacy closures create real barriers to care. Kansans should not have to choose between affordability and access to necessary medications. Greater oversight of PBMs helps ensure that patients, not middlemen, remain the priority in our healthcare system. SB 360 promotes transparency, fairness, and accountability — values that Kansans expect from systems that impact their health and financial stability. I respectfully urge you to vote in support of SB 360. Thank you for your time, your service, and your commitment to Kansas communities.
