Kennedy Jr. as Health Secretary given his history of promoting conspiracy theories and pseudoscience regarding not only vaccines but also important medications. As a healthcare professional, I have witnessed firsthand the immense value of widespread vaccination and proven medications in protecting public health and preventing the resurgence of deadly diseases. Mr. Kennedy's well-documented opposition to vaccines and peddling of misinformation about essential medications based on unfounded claims is extremely dangerous and could severely undermine faith in these life-saving medical interventions. His confirmation would put the health and safety of all South Dakotans at risk by emboldening unscientific movements and disseminating misinformation. I urge you to reject this nomination and instead support a qualified candidate who will prioritize proven science and uphold the integrity of public health policies and programs. The consequences of having a proponent of pseudoscientific theories lead federal health efforts could be disastrous.
