Stop the Escalation: No Expanded War Against Iran

To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick

From: A verified voter in West Chester, PA

October 1

You need to use your authority to stop Trump from expanding this war against Iran. Three aircraft carriers, 20 Navy ships, and now 10,000 more troops deploying on the USS Theodore Roosevelt — this is a massive military buildup with no congressional authorization and no clear endgame. Trump has already said he expects to resume bombing after the midterms. That is not a strategy. That is a president scheduling a war around an election. The human cost is already real. Sailors on the USS Abraham Lincoln were so worn down by extended deployment and supply shortages — caused by Iranian strikes on the Bahrain port — that some attempted to jump overboard. We are now pre-loading the Roosevelt with holiday decorations to prepare for a "long stay." That tells you everything about where this is headed. Congress has the power to stop this. Demand a vote before any escalation against Iran. Trump rejected a seven-day ceasefire last week and told Time magazine he doesn't think "you could ever have peace" with Iran. That kind of thinking leads to endless war. Use your voice and your vote to draw the line now.
