An Open Letter

I just watched a story on CBS Sunday Morning reported by Ted Koppel detailing the human cost of the devastating funding cuts to the NIH Cancer Institute. I must ask what are we saving by cutting this funding? Even after Mr. Musk's departure from the current administration, the lasting effects of his disastrous and cruel funding cuts will be felt for generations. The paranoia over possible waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending has led to irresponsible actions that have and will continue to cost literal lives and have ceded our position as leaders in cancer research. Now as we watch the GOP kowtow to Mr. Trump's ego by rushing through a historically unpopular bill cutting Medicaid and medical coverage for millions of Americans in exchange for tax cuts for the wealthy, it is clear to me that the health and well-being of Americans (who don't qualify for tax cuts) is not a priority for the GOP in this day and age. THIS IS PLAIN WRONG! I urge you to vote a resounding no on Mr. Trump's Big Horrible Bill and use the power of your office to place a priority on the health and well-being of ALL Americans.
