April 7

Please stop the attacks on growth management in the state. This weekend I took a trip to Orlando, saw a show, did some fun things, got caught in traffic and sat and stared at sprawl for an hour. We can do so much better than this and these bills will not help. Please vote “no” on SB 1264/HB 1125 abolishing the Regional Planning Councils. They help rural communities in particular, so this would be an odd move considering the other bills that are supportive of rural communities. I also don’t understand the drive to eliminate all Community Redevelopment Agencies. Given that we don’t just want sprawl and areas need revitalization, CRAs are a good option. If they need additional oversight, add that. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Vote “no” on HB 991/SB 1242.
