I love and admire you so much. You have been my hero through the past four years and your story of perseverance and determination is incredibly inspiring.
What the country is going through right now is heartbreaking. I've been in disbelief for much of the past eight years, watching what some of our fellow citizens are capable of. The cruelty, the lies and gaslighting, the utter lack of decency.
You represent goodness. You were the right person at the right time in 2020. You have given me a lot of hope and have restored my faith in a core goodness in our country, even when there's so much evidence to the contrary.
Things have shifted as we inch toward the election, and you are not immune from the anti-incumbent sentiment that's sweeping the globe. And you're our oldest president. Old enough to deserve a break; wise enough to know when it's time.
So many Americans have been quick to forget the devastating Trump years. So many others are terrified of a potential second term.
It seems like we do need some new energy – maybe from Kamala , maybe someone else.
You have been a phenomenal president and you moved us out of a dire and scary time of Covid/economic uncertainty/division like we've not seen since the civil war. You have been a steady and good leader in impossibly hard times. You leave behind a legacy of goodness that spans a long career. Perhaps it is the right time to pass the torch and trust in the next generation. Whatever you decide, I stand behind you and root for you and am grateful for what you have represented and what you have accomplished for the common good.
God bless you, Mr President. And may you rest well knowing you've done enough.
