Nancy Mace’s derogatory language

To: Sen. Cassidy, Sen. Kennedy, Rep. Fields

From: A verified voter in Shreveport, LA

February 6, 2025

The use of derogatory slurs against transgender individuals is highly unacceptable and perpetuates harm towards an already marginalized community. Such language promotes discrimination, stigma, and a lack of respect for the identities and experiences of transgender people. It is crucial that elected officials, who are meant to serve all constituents, refrain from using offensive and dehumanizing rhetoric. Continued use of these slurs not only exacerbates societal prejudices but also undermines efforts towards creating an inclusive and equitable society. A commitment to human rights and dignity necessitates the adoption of inclusive language that affirms the humanity of all individuals, regardless of gender identity or expression. It is imperative that steps are taken to address and rectify this concerning pattern of behavior.
