An Open Letter

To: Rep. Fletcher, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

From: A constituent in Sugar Land, TX

June 24

The Trump administration's decision to repeal the Roadless Rule puts 58 million acres of pristine national forest land at risk of road construction, logging, and development. This rollback endangers some of America's most treasured landscapes like Alaska's Tongass National Forest, Virginia's Shenandoah Mountains, and Idaho's Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness. These unspoiled areas provide vital habitats for wildlife, clean water sources, and opportunities for recreation like fishing and hunting that many Americans cherish. Allowing road building and resource extraction in these protected forests threatens to destroy their wild character and the ecological services they provide. I urge you to oppose this misguided policy rollback and work to reinstate protections for our national forest lands. Their conservation benefits current and future generations.
